Choosing an experienced audiologist is one of the most important decisions you can make. We provide support, counseling and other services to maximize your hearing abilities and to help reduce the risk of further hearing loss.

We are 100% patient oriented. Our caring staff is concerned about you and we will make the appropriate recommendations for either a medical referral or for hearing aid services on a case by case basis.

Audiology Associates of Freehold, has been providing exceptional care since 1985. With a strong clinical background, the practice continues to focuse on total patient and family care, and not just hearing aid sales.

Our goal is to provide you the best possible hearing care, based upon your individual needs. We provide a comprehensive array of services related to evaluation, rehabilitation and prevention of hearing impairment. These services include specialized diagnostic testing for infants, children and adults, tests for auditory processing, tinnitus evaluations, hearing aid dispensing and hearing aid repair services (in-office lab). We also fit custom earmolds, swim molds and noise protectors.

We are also part of Cochlea Americas “Cochlear Provider Network” that allows us to program, map and re-map cochlear implants and the bone anchored hearing apparatus (BAHA).
Protecting your hearing can make a big difference. Our providers will show you how to protect your hearing from further deterioration through personalized education programs.

About Hearing Loss

Most people believe that hearing loss is associated with growing older which is the main reason why most who suffer from the aliment wait an average of 7 years before seeking treatment. Approximately 15 percent of Americans (26 million people) between the ages of 20 and 69 have high frequency hearing loss due to exposure to noise at work or during leisure activities.

Our Services

Hearing Aid Dispensing & Fitting

At the hearing aid fitting, you will receive the hearing aids you selected. They are programmed based on a prescription that is specific to your hearing loss. The hearing professional might make additional adjustments after you try the hearing aids to make sure the settings and fit are ideal for you.

In Office Services

We encourage ongoing cleaning and maintenance after your hearing aid purchase to ensure you receive optimum performance and benefit from your hearing aid(s). We encourage all our patients to come in for regular hearing aid check-ups and cleaning.

Repairs, Maintenance, Cleanings, and Warranties come with all brands of hearing aids. We offer in-office repairs when possible on most makes/models.

Battery Sales

We keep a supply of batteries for you to purchase in our office. Stop in routinely for fresh batteries. Make sure to check the batteries in your hearing devices often and make sure there is no dirt, wax or debris interfering with the batteries performance. Batteries that are properly charged will make a noise (a squeal) when cupped in your hand or after it has been inserted in your ear, when you cup your hand over the hearing aid it will also make a noise.

Assistive Devices

When hearing, aids are not enough or not appropriate we offer devices for the TV, telephone, FM classroom amplification, body aids, and sound alert devices.

Custom Earmolds

Custom hearing protection for people who work or play in loud noise or music, industrial hearing protection. Custom earmolds for musicians, hunters, swim molds, iPod, hands free cell phones and in-the-ear monitor molds.

Meet Our Providers

Ryan Mattoon

Ryan M. Mattoon, Au.D. is a Doctor of Audiology in New Jersey. Ryan has been in the hearing healthcare field for over 8 years preforming comprehensive hearing evaluations, auditory processing testing, hearing aid evaluations and educating his patients and the community about hearing health. Ryan received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Stockton University and his Doctorate in Audiology from Bloomsburg University. By attending conferences, and through continuing education, Ryan stays up to date on the latest hearing aid technology and fitting strategies
